Adding a Custom Camera in DJI Pilot 2 for the DJI M400
How to enter a custom camera profile into the DJI Pilot 2 app when planning a mapping mission with the DJI Matrice 400 (M400).
The video below walks through how to open an area planning mission and add a custom camera in DJI Pilot 2.
Steps Shown in the Video
- Open the DJI Pilot 2 app on the RC Plus 2 controller.
- Tap Flight Route from the home screen.
- Tap the + icon and select Create a Route.
- Select the mission type and define your mapping area. Tap the blue check mark in the top left to proceed to the mission settings.
- In the mission settings, select the aircraft as M400, then navigate to the Camera section.
- In the Camera Type dropdown, select Custom Camera.
- Enter your camera’s parameters (see below).
- Tap Save to store the custom camera profile.
- Select your saved camera from the camera list to apply it to the mission.
Custom Camera Parameters
You will need your camera’s datasheet to fill in the following values accurately. These parameters directly affect GSD and flight path calculations.
- Photo Size Width and Height (pixels)
- Sensor Size Width and Height (mm)
- Focal Length (mm)
- Minimum Capture Interval (seconds)
