What is Contour "Smoothing Level"?

Contour smoothing is a simple tool which allows you to select your desired look for the contours generated.

The smoothing levels come from varying degrees of TIN surface smoothing prior to contour generation. This is a sophisticated process where we attempt to keep any hard edges in the dataset as sharp as possible while providing smoothing to create an appealing and uniform contour line.

Sometimes this smoothing can be too aggressive for certain datasets. For this reason, we give you the ability to easily dial up or down the smoothing.
