How to convert your ROCK orthophoto from a .tif to a .tiff format
To convert .tif file orthophoto generated by ROCK Desktop into a .tiff file orthophoto for Civil3D, follow these steps:
-
Prepare the Ortho Photo Using QGIS
- Add the orthophoto (in .tif format) as a raster layer.
- Maintain the same coordinate reference system (CRS) for consistency.
-
Export the GeoTIFF
- Right-click the layer and choose Export > Save As…
- Save as a GeoTIFF and ensure the filename uses “.tiff” with two ‘f’s.
-
Import into Civil3D
- In Civil3D, use Insert > Raster Image to add the newly formatted .tiff file.
- This ensures compatibility and easy integration with your project’s CAD environment.
