ROCK wants to ensure that everyone using the V2 SLAM data collection setup has the correct Insta360 camera settings. Proper settings are crucial for accurate extrinsic calibration as well as colorizing your SLAM point cloud. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get it right.
**Depending on the date of purchase of your ROCK V2 SLAM Kit, you may have either an Insta360 One RS camera or an Insta360 X4 camera. The Insta360 One RS camera has a 1.5" screen (diagonally), while the Insta360 X4 camera has a 2.5" screen (diagonally).
Setting Up Your Insta360 Camera
-
Switch to Video Mode
- Ensure your Insta360 camera is in video mode.
-
Adjust Resolution and Frame Rate
- Tap on the settings icon.
- Set the resolution to 6K (Insta360 One RS) or 5.7K (Insta360 X4).
- Set the frame rate to 30.
-
Verify Settings
- Confirm that your camera display shows 6K with 2 over 1 above it and 30 below it for the Insta 360 One RS.
- Confirm that your camera display shows 5.7K and 30 for the Insta X4.
If the Insta360 camera records 360 degree video not following the settings above, ROCK Desktop will not be able to process your SLAM or mobile point cloud.
Additional Tips
