Is the R3 Pro V2 NDAA Compliant?

The R3Pro is a standalone LiDAR data-collection payload. It does not provide flight control, command-and-control, or navigation functions for a drone and can be operated handheld or on ground/vehicle mounts. The components of the R3Pro are manufactured and assembled in China. For U.S. Government or DoD-funded use cases, compliance determinations under FY20 NDAA §848 and successor requirements are made by the procuring agency and/or contracting officer and may depend on the specific contract clauses and mission use. Customers should confirm applicability with their contracting officer or counsel, particularly where solicitations include the DFARS §848/§817 representation clauses addressing UAS and “related services or equipment.”

Key Features of the R3 Pro V2

The R3 Pro V2 is a highly adaptable system that offers:

  • Handheld or mobile mount capabilities: This allows it to be used in a variety of situations without relying on a drone. Check out how to attach it to a drone like the M300 or M350 in our setup guide.
  • Independent LiDAR capture: It is entirely separate from the drone’s navigation systems, meaning it only serves as a payload for data collection.
  • Compatibility with ground-based and aerial setups: It functions equally well when used in mobile scenarios such as mounted on a vehicle or handheld for ground surveys.

"The R3 Pro V2 is not integrated into the drone and is used as a separate, portable system for data collection, making it exempt from critical NDAA restrictions."
