- Failed Data Collection
LiDAR powered off or stopped collecting data mid flight?
Turn off your wifi after starting your LiDAR. Firmware update pending.
Your device's wifi is losing connection due to distance to the LiDAR and when it comes close again it reconnects and causes an error which stops the collection.
To elaborate on that, the now known cause of blocking is that the WiFi module has some data (updated recording status, updated storage status) to transmit to the web client.
It cannot reach the receiver and gets stuck in its firmware trying to transmit. That leads to long (seconds) process of WiFi module recovery in kernel mode, which may block other processes.
Simple answer:
Turn off your device's wifi after you start your collection, and then reconnect once again once you land to stop, or use the button method instead.
