Assembling and Securing the ROCK Colorized SLAM Dock V2 to your ROCK R3 Pro

If you are going to be collecting Colorized SLAM data please note that your Insta360 camera has been calibrated prior to shipping.  Removing the Insta360 camera from its mount will result in the camera needing to be calibrated again.  For this reason, ROCK strongly recommends keeping the Insta360 camera secured in its mount.

  • Prior to setting up and mounting the ROCK R3 Pro unit, please inspect all parts for any damage or wear.  Also check ROCK Cloud to see if there are any recent firmware updates for your unit.
  • Attach and secure the Insta360 camera to the R3 Pro SLAM Dock.  Before attaching the camera, be sure to remove the LiDAR cover of the R3 Pro (if the camera is attached your R3 Pro cover cannot be removed).  The display screen of your Insta360 camera should face the back of the SLAM Dock.

  • Connect the GPS antenna to the top of the Insta360 mount if you will be collecting SLAM data both starting and finishing outdoors.

If you are NOT starting AND finishing with clear GPS signal DO NOT CONNECT THE GPS ANTENNA. YOUR DATA COLLECTION WILL NOT WORK IF YOU CONNECT THE GPS ANTENNA AND TURN ON THE UNIT WHEN THERE IS NO GPS SIGNAL.

  • Use the 4 pin power to USB-C cable (long) to connect the power pack (use the "Type 1 C In/Out" port) to the R3 Pro SLAM Dock.
  • Use the 4 pin power to USB-C cable (short) to connect the Insta360 camera to the R3 Pro SLAM Dock.
  • Check that all connection points are secure, then attach the extendable SLAM Rod to the bottom of the R3 Pro SLAM Dock for ease of carrying.

Your ROCK R3 Pro Colorized SLAM unit is now set up and ready for use.
