Operate the R2A/R360 with Power Button

Learn how to operate the R2A/R360 workflow with just one button!

Simple 1 Button Interface Instructions

Step 1: Power On - Press the button on the R2A/R360 and wait 20-30 seconds for satellite collection and hardware initialization.

  • All LED lights turn on once the GNSS is connected to satellites and the hardware is initialized.

GNSS LED will flash prior to connecting to satellites. It will not flash or connect if the receiver is not receiving signals from satellites. If this occurs, check the antenna cable for a loose connection and make sure you have a clear view of the sky.

Step 2: Start Logging - Press the power button again to begin logging data. Wait for 20-30 seconds for static calibration before flying.

  • Boot LED light will flash green/red.

Step 3: Terminate Logging - Land and wait 20-30 seconds to ensure data accuracy. Press the power button to stop logging data.

  • Boot LED will stop flashing.

Step 4: Power Off - Hold power button for 4 seconds and release.

  • All LED will turn off.

The R2A/R360 receives power from the Skyport adapter. Power off the R2A/R360 before the M300/350. The R2A/R360 must stop and shutdown properly to write all the data to the USB flash drive. Powering off the R2A/R360 while logging will result in data loss.

Force Shutdown - Hold the power button for 10 seconds. It is recommended to try to avoid a forced shutdown if possible.

  • All LED will be turned off.

In Summary:

1st Press: Powers ON the unit, and begins the warm up procedure. WAIT 30 seconds to obtain enough satellites and initialize the hardware before moving on to the next step.

2nd Press: Starts the capture and triggers static collection. WAIT again for 30 seconds for static calibration before you begin your flight.

3rd Press: WAIT 30 seconds after landing before pressing to stop the data capture.

4th Press: HOLD for 4 SECONDS to trigger shutdown. This will also write the specific parameters of your LiDAR unit to your project files before Powering OFF automatically.

**Check your files in the field using the rtk.pcmp file to verify your capture before leaving.**

This can be done without stopping your base station as it is just visualizing the LiDAR scan file and not a trajectory corrected point cloud. This means no license or internet is needed, but note your point cloud is  also inaccurate at this stage.
