ROCK Ultra Benefits - Time Saving

A key benefit of the ROCK Ultra is the ability to fly at higher altitudes and fast speeds while still achieving a survey grade point cloud

The video below shows the same mission area (Big Denver) being planned using the ROCK R3 Pro V2 LiDAR unit.  The mission altitude is 45 meters, mission speed is 3.5 meters per second (maximum allowed by mission planning software), and has an overlap of 50%.  For the 458,425 square meters area (approx. 113 acres), DJI Pilot 2 estimates about 1 hour and 7 minutes of flight time.

When the mission plan is changed to settings for flying with the ROCK Ultra of a mission altitude is 120 meters, mission speed is 9.5 meters per second (maximum allowed by mission planning software), and an overlap of 50%, the estimated flight time drops to 10 minutes and 32 seconds.  This represents approximately 84% time saved by using the ROCK Ultra.
