ROCK Ultra - Starting and Stopping Data Collection

The 1-button method allows you to start and stop data collection on your ROCK Ultra Unit.

Follow these steps to use the 1-button method to start data collection on the ROCK Ultra Unit:

  1. After your ROCK Ultra unit has been turned on and has a solid green light (self test and GNSS test have been passed), push the button for 1 second.

  2. Release the button for 1 second.

  3. Push and hold the button for 5 seconds.

  4. The light will start blinking green to indicate that LiDAR data collection has started.

  5. Patiently wait for the camera to start clicking which indicates that photos are being collected.  This may take approximately 15 to 20 seconds.  

 Once you have completed your survey, and collected 30 seconds of static data collection after landing, follow these steps to use the 1-button method to stop data collection on the ROCK Ultra Unit:

  1. Push the button for 1 second.

  2. Release the button for 1 second.

  3. Push and hold the button for 5 seconds.

  4. The light will start blinking green, and you will hear the camera stop clicking to indicate that the camera is no longer taking photos.  

  5. Patiently wait for the light to stop blinking green, this may take approximately 15 to 20 seconds.  

  6. The light will change to solid green to indicate that you have stopped data collection, and saved your data to the USB drive.
