What to Do If Your ROCK Ultra .epr LiDAR File Is Only 5 KB
ROCK Ultra .epr File Is Only 5 KB – Causes and Fixes
If you complete a full mission with your ROCK Ultra and find that the raw LiDAR file (.epr) in the LiDAR1 folder is only ~5 KB, the system initialized but never started firing the laser.
There are two common causes:
-
Incorrect LiDAR input voltage
-
LiDAR Protection preventing low-altitude or static capture
1. Verify LiDAR Voltage Settings (Most Common Cause)
The ROCK Ultra is optimized for DJI M300 / M350 platforms.
If you are flying anything else, you must manually set the voltage.
This applies if you are flying:
-
DJI M400
-
Freefly platforms
-
Inspired Flight platforms
-
Any non-M300 / M350 drone
Required Setting
-
Voltage must be set to 220V
- Workflow described in ROCK's Knowledge Base
2. Check LiDAR Protection Status (Common During Ground Tests)
The ROCK Ultra includes LiDAR Protection to prevent firing close to the ground.
Default Behavior
-
LiDAR will not start until the platform exceeds ~20 m AGL
- Workflow described in ROCK's Knowledge Base
